Newsletter 07 May 2020

Dear readers,

to reflect on and discuss the immense changes we are currently facing, we continue to provide webinars to enable an exchange of ideas with activists and intellectuals on important political questions – with Gayatri C. Spivak as our next penalist – today, 7 May, 19:00 (CET).

We would especially like to draw your attention to transform! europe’s latest project: Meeting the Left.  Starting on 11 May, we will present a series of web interviews with leading personalities of parties of the European left. The first interviewee will be Catarina Martins, National Coordinator of Portugal’s Left Bloc, followed by Katja Kipping, Co-chairperson of the German Die LINKE.

If you are not free at the time of any of the scheduled webinars you can find the complete recordings of our online events on this website.

Our May newsletter, focusing on the EU’s current economic policy, offers analyses particularly on the debate over ‘Coronabonds‘ as well as on the European Council’s failure to address the Covid-19 crisis.
In addition, it provides a feminist analysis by the Marxist Feminist Collective of the effects of the Covid crisis against the background of the capitalist normal state, as well as a report on the current trial against members of the Communist Party of Poland, who are being accused of ‘publicly promoting a totalitarian state system’ – a report first published by
Nasze Argumenty, one of transform! europe’s media partners.

We wish you stimulating reading!
