• Perspectivas estratégicas de la izquierda europea

  • La crisis del capitalismo ha provocado efectos en toda Europa y en todos los ámbitos sociales. Esto crea nuevas condiciones para la izquierda europea. Los nuevos desafíos a los que se enfrenta el PIE tienen que ver con las agendas nacionales y su actuación a nivel europeo. En este programa de investigación, tratamos de presentar los nuevos desafíos en detalle, tanto en lo que respecta a las acciones políticas como a las formas de organización resultantes del surgimiento de nuevos actores sociales. Al hacerlo, se analizan casos ejemplares de diferentes países y se presentan opciones estratégicas en términos teóricos.

  • The discussion paper “Democratizing the Police in Europe” – with a particular emphasis on Greece –, has been comissioned in the frame of the transform! Left Strategy project in cooperation with Nicos Poulantzas Institute and Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. It deals with the varieties of police organizational models, the relations of police and democracy in times of crisis, and explores possible left responses in the organizing of police.   • On 10 March 2014, Dublin City University hosted a conference, co-organised with transform!europe, to investigate the effects of troika rule in the four countries subjected to IMF-ECB-EU programmes (Greece, Ireland, Portugal and Cyprus), while also looking at those countries hovering on the edge of such programmes, such as Spain.
