‘Pensar hoy con Marx’

En Madrid, del 4 al 6 de octubre de 2018, se celebrará una Conferencia Internacional con motivo del 200 aniversario del nacimiento de Karl Marx. Envíen propuestas antes del 1 de mayo.

En el 200 aniversario del nacimiento de Karl Marx, seguidores, detractores y aquellos que permanecen neutrales concuerdan en que Marx ha sido el pensador político y social más influyente de todos los tiempos.

Marx tiene la distinción de haber sido no solo un activista político de primera línea, sino también un eminente economista, un distinguido historiador de la economía, la tecnología, la ciencia y la política, así como un filósofo original, un polemista y un periodista comprometido.

En el trabajo intelectual, Marx fue extremadamente ambicioso, y casi sin precedentes en la historia del pensamiento: Estableció una filosofía de la historia, basada en una base científica sólida, que permite un diagnóstico de los errores del capitalismo y de la cual pueden derivar las pautas para la política pragmática y revolucionaria.

No se debe ignorar la importancia de su pensamiento, y es imperativo reconsiderar la figura de Karl Marx desde una perspectiva de su relevancia actual, para comprender los desafíos del mundo globalizado, diez años después de la crisis de 2008.

En este bicentenario de su nacimiento, la Fundación de Investigaciones Marxistas (FIM), la Fundación Europa de los Ciudadanos (FEC), y la red transform! Network, con la colaboración de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), asume la tarea de organizar una conferencia internacional dedicada al estudio del trabajo de Marx y su influencia en la ciencia y la política contemporánea pragmática.

Guidelines and Calendar for Sending Communications

The proposals for communications will be adjusted to the following calendar of deadlines:

  • Sending of summaries of the communications: 1 May, 2018.
  • Approval of the summaries: 1 June, 2018.
  • Sending of the complete texts of the communications: 1 September, 2018.

Registration

Place of the Congress: Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM).

Formalization of registration and fees: All participants in the Congress as communicators must formalize their registration before 15 September. The registration fee is 50 euros teaching staff, 20 euros communication of students or researchers without income and 20 euros assistants with the right to a certificate. Bank transfer in favour of the FIM, ES68 0075 0446 410600021247.

It offers the possibility – dependent confirmation – of validating the assistance for 2 ECTS credits at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
