Building Bridges Between Academia and the Trade Union Movement

We would like to draw your attention to the recent initiative by the Transnational Trade Union Rights Experts Network (TTUR) consisting of eight leading European labour law experts denouncing the systematic attacks on social dialogue and labour law provisions to which the Euro-area crisis and the austerity policies prescribed by European institutions have led in many EU countries.

Up to now more than 545 social and labour lawyers from all over Europe – nearly all with an academic affiliation – have signed the manifesto in protest at these developments, urging the EU to respect and promote fundamental social rights in respect of all crisis-related measures.

Please note that it can only be signed by lawyers with an academic affiliation. They could state their support and agreement in the form of a positive reply to manifesto@etui.org

Furthermore, a video “The Manifesto: EU labour lawyers speak out against austerity policies” has been produced to promote the initiative.
