The conference "100 Shades of the EU: The Political Economy of the EU Peripheries Between Pandemic and War" expanded on the ongoing work by transform! europe on EU peripheries, bringing together academic researchers and trade unionists from across Europe. This one-hour podcast series consists of seven short episodes and dwells on some key elements and findings of the study "Hundred Shades of the EU — Mapping the Political Economy of the EU Peripheries" published in March 2022 by transform! with the support of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Foundation.
This special episode of Cross-Border Talks is devoted to a study prepared under the auspices of transform! europe, entitled "Hundred Shades of the EU — Mapping the Political Economy of the EU Peripheries". Two of the three of our co-authors working on the study were invited to the Cross-Border Talks interview.
The new publication, edited by Coppieters Foundation and Fundació nexe, analyses the development of right-wing parties in southern EU countries – specifically in Italy, Spain and France. It looks at their history since the end of the 1970s but focuses mainly on more recent developments after the financial and economic crisis of 2008–2009.
