Ενόσω η ανθρωπότητα αντιμετωπίζει την, άνευ προηγουμένου, καταστροφική πανδημία του COVID-19, η Αριστερά, σε διεθνές επίπεδο, πρέπει να αντιμετωπίσει τη συγκεκριμένη κρίση με δράσεις, με αναλύσεις και με σχεδιασμό, τόσο βραχυπρόθεσμα, όσο και μακροπρόθεσμα. Δραστηριοποιούμαστε μέρα με τη μέρα, με οδηγό τις ανάγκες των κοινοτήτων μας, και αυτό από μόνο του αναδιαμορφώνει τον τρόπο που κάνουμε πολιτική. Δημιουργούμε δίκτυα αλληλεγγύης και διεξάγουμε εκστρατείες για την προστασία και τη συνεργασία με εκείνους που πλήττονται περισσότερο από την κρίση. Πρέπει όμως, ταυτόχρονα, να σκεφτούμε στρατηγικά και να προτείνουμε εναλλακτικές λύσεις για το μέλλον. Δεν γίνεται να επιστρέψουμε στον φαύλο κύκλο της λιτότητας και της φτώχειας. Meeting the Left
The Coronavirus has hit the EU unprepared, but with different effect in different countries. Hardest hit were the countries whose healthcare and social systems have been sapped by decades of austerity policies. Thus, the pandemic has increased inequalities not only inside the states but also between the Member States of the EU. This presents a challenge for the parties of the radical left and calls for a re-examination of their strategies.
