Είναι η νότια Ευρώπη ο αδύναμος κρίκος της ευρωπαϊκής ολοκλήρωσης; Ανιχνεύοντας πιθανά πεδία συνεργασίας μεταξύ κινημάτων και κομμάτων
Αυτό το φθινόπωρο το transform! Europe φιλοξενεί ένα χώρο διαλόγου και αναστοχασμού πάνω στην επίδραση της περασμένης δεκαετίας στην ευρωπαϊκή πολιτική των χωρών του ευρωπαϊκού Νότου. Στοχεύουμε στην οικοδόμηση εναλλακτικών στο μοντέλο της ΕΕ, κοινών στρατηγικών συνεργασιών, με το βλέμμα στραμμένο στο μέλλον.
Οι ευρωπαϊκές χώρες του Νότου αντιπροσωπεύουν την αποτυχία της υπάρχουσας διαδικασίας ευρωπαϊκής ολοκλήρωσης. Παρά τις διαφορές τους, όλες υπήρξαν θύματα διαφόρων πακέτων διάσωσης από την Τρόικα όπως επίσης και από τις γενικές αυταρχικές πολιτικές λιτότητας της ΕΕ, που υποτίθεται ότι ήταν η απάντηση στην έξοδο από την πρόσφατη συστημική κρίση. Το αποτέλεσμα ήταν οι δομικές τους αδυναμίες, όπως η εργασιακή επισφάλεια, να ενισχυθούν, μαζί με την ανεργία, τη φτώχεια και την απώλεια θέσεων εργασίας και κοινωνικών δικαιωμάτων. Μπροστά σ’ αυτή την κατάσταση, ένα συνέδριο διανοουμένων, κομματικών στελεχών, συνδικαλιστών και ακτιβιστών θα εξετάσει τι έχει γίνει και, κυρίως, τι πρέπει να γίνει από την Αριστερά, τα σωματεία και τα κοινωνικά κινήματα, που στις περισσότερες ευρωπαϊκές χώρες είναι ισχυρότερα απ’ ότι στην υπόλοιπη Ευρώπη.

BrückenBauer. Είναι η Κεντρική Ευρώπη μια γειτονια;
Στην 100η επέτειο από την ίδρυση της Δημοκρατίας της Αυστρίας, το transform! Europe και το Ίδρυμα «Jahoda-Bauer» διοργανώνουν ένα συνέδριο για τις προοπτικές μιας κοινής στρατηγικής για την περιοχή του Δούναβη και την Κεντρική Ευρώπη.
Έχοντας ως αφετηρία τις σκύψεις του Ότο Μπάουερ στο «Η αυστριακή επανάσταση», το συνέδριο στοχεύει στη ενίσχυση της συνεργασίας μεταξύ ακτιβιστών, διανοουμένων, πολιτικών και συνδικαλιστών. Με δεδομένη τη συγκυρία της αυστριακής προεδρίας στο Συμβούλιο της ΕΕ, ζητήματα όπως οι θεωρίες του Μπάουερ για το μετασχηματισμό και η αντιπαράθεσή του με το «εθνικό ζήτημα», που ξαναήρθαν στην επικαιρότητα με αφορμή των ανακάμπτοντα εθνικισμό θα βρίσκονται στο επίκεντρο των συζητήσεων.
This fall, transform! europe hosts a space of debate and reflection on the impacts of the past decade European policies on Southern countries. We aim at looking into the future and building common cooperation strategies as an alternative model to the current European Union.
Southern European countries represent the failure of the existing European integration. Despite their differences, all of them were the victims of various ‘bail-out packages’ imposed by the Troika as well as by the general authoritarian EU policies of austerity, which supposedly were the answer to exit from the recent systemic crisis. The result was that their structural weaknesses, like labour precariousness, have increased together with unemployment, poverty and the loss of labour and social rights. In front of this situation, a Conference gathering scholars and political actors from parties, trade unions and movements will reflect on what has been done and, particularly, on what has to be done by the Left, trade-unions and social movements, which in most Southern countries are stronger than those in the rest of Europe.
