„Heute mit Marx denken“

Anlässlich des 200. Geburtstags von Karl Marx wird in Madrid von 4. bis 6. Oktober 2018 eine internationale Konferenz abgehalten. Bis 1. Mai werden Beitragsvorschläge entgegengenommen.

Zum 200. Geburtstag von Karl Marx sind sich seine Anhänger_innen, Kritiker_innen und auch neutrale Stimmen einig: Marx ist im Bereich Politik und Gesellschaft der einflussreichste Denker aller Zeiten.

Marx zeichnet sich vor allem dadurch aus, dass er nicht nur als politischer Aktivist der vordersten Reihe auftrat. Er war auch ein angesehener Ökonom, herausragender Wirtschafts-, Technologie-, Wissenschafts- und Politikhistoriker sowie Philosoph, Polemiker und engagierter Journalist.

Marx‘ intellektuelles Werk zeugt von seinem großem Ehrgeiz, der in der Geschichte des Denkens als nahezu unerreicht gilt: Er etablierte eine Geschichtsphilosophie, die auf einem soliden wissenschaftlichen Fundament fußt. Dieses lässt eine Diagnose der Fehler des Kapitalismus zu und eine Ableitung der Leitlinien für eine pragmatische und revolutionäre Politik.

Die Bedeutung seiner Denkweise kann nicht hoch genug eingeschätzt werden. Es ist wichtig, die Person Karl Marx aus der Sichtweise seiner aktuellen Relevanz neu zu betrachten, um zehn Jahre nach der Krise 2008 die Herausforderungen einer globalisierten Welt zu verstehen.

Anlässlich seines 200. Geburtstags organisieren die Stiftung für Marxistische Studien (FIM), die Stiftung für ein Europa der Bürger_innen (FEC) und das transform! Netzwerk in Zusammenarbeit mit der Universität Complutense Madrid (UCM) eine internationale Konferenz, die sich dem Studium von Marx‘ Werk und seinem Einfluss auf die Wissenschaft und die pragmatische zeitgenössische Politik widmet.

Guidelines and Calendar for Sending Communications

The proposals for communications will be adjusted to the following calendar of deadlines:

  • Sending of summaries of the communications: 1 May, 2018.
  • Approval of the summaries: 1 June, 2018.
  • Sending of the complete texts of the communications: 1 September, 2018.

Registration

Place of the Congress: Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM).

Formalization of registration and fees: All participants in the Congress as communicators must formalize their registration before 15 September. The registration fee is 50 euros teaching staff, 20 euros communication of students or researchers without income and 20 euros assistants with the right to a certificate. Bank transfer in favour of the FIM, ES68 0075 0446 410600021247.

It offers the possibility – dependent confirmation – of validating the assistance for 2 ECTS credits at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
